Almost anyone can unleash new realms of possibilities in the underwater world. But before we dive even further into the whole topic, let’s answer one simple question, What does Scuba Diving mean?
Scuba diving is swimming underwater using SCUBA – Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. By using a cylinder of compressed gas to breathe, usually air, or a mixture of other gases.
With all the necessary gear such as scuba masks, breathing regulators, buoyancy devices, fins, and gauges, scuba divers can explore the underwater world and feel the thrill of discovery deep inside a ship’s wreck or cave.
Learning to dive can be fairly straightforward and easy, few days worth of training can get you to dive in the open water. An entry-level certification course includes classroom sessions as well as practice in essential diving skills in a pool. Then you will test your knowledge on a written exam and apply your skills during training dives in the open water.
Depending on your interest whether you want to relax while photographing brightly colored fish, be thrilled by the power of a school of sharks, or make a living working underwater, you can further your skills through various courses, that will make you comfortable and more confident in and around the water, to improve your knowledge and understanding of the aquatic world.
The next step is to look for a diving association, There are many diving associations who can provide specialized courses like: NAUI, PADI, PDIC, and SSI. That said PADI has become the most easily accessible dive association due to its recognition and distribution throughout the world.
So enroll into a diving course, our beautiful Jeddah draws many divers since the Red Sea offers a lot of treasures right off of Jeddah’s shores like the Chicken Wreck among other untouched corals that are waiting to be explored.
